Small Animals
Small Animal Medicine refers to the treatment and diagnosis of smaller animals, such as dogs and cats but also many other species of animals.
Our staff is highly trained and experienced in how to care for small animals like dogs and cats, as well as exotic and pocket pets. Working with animals is our passion and we strive to provide the highest level of care possible for your pets.
Preventative Medicine
Preventing disease before it even starts is always the best way to ensure a long healthy life for our pets. Examination by a veterinarian at least every 12 months allows us to detect unnoticed disease conditions as well as recommend appropriate preventative measures such as vaccines and parasite prevention protocols.
Diagnosis and Treatment of Diseases/Illnesses
Occasionally, despite our best efforts to avoid it, our beloved pets become ill. This is when Dr Guzman and staff can evaluate the patient and create a plan for diagnostics and treatment. Deep Roots Animal Clinic is equipped with in-house blood analyzers as well as reference laboratories for diagnostics. Additionally, x-rays and basic ultrasound diagnostics can also be performed in-house.
Surgical Services
Deep Roots Animal Clinic is well equipped to offer a wide variety of surgical services, from spay/neuter procedures to complex soft tissue surgery to certain orthopedic procedures. Many of these procedures can be scheduled but some of them require immediate attention and Deep Roots Animal Clinic can offer these services on an emergency basis.
Dental Services
Dental health has a huge impact on a patients quality of life and likely even effect a patients longevity. Routine home dental care as well as dental cleanings can prevent serious tooth and gum disease and significantly reduce the likelihood for a patient to need teeth extracted in their senior years. We recommend regular cleanings to maintain good oral hygiene and overall health.
Exotics
Not all pets are furry or four legged! We are proud to provide care for exotic pets including birds, reptiles, and pocket pets. Caring for exotic pets requires experience and special training, so we have a team that is equipped to provide our exotic patients with high quality care.
Caring for exotic animals can be very different from other pets, so it’s important for pet owners to be educated on the needs of their pets. Nutrition and a proper habitat are major components of properly caring for most exotic pets.
If you have any questions or concerns about your exotic pets’ health, please don’t hesitate to contact us today.
